Into the night

The night
               unfolded its silky silence,
               unrolled its pleasant warmth.
In the confluence of moments,
                                             we sat.

Leaning into the night,
you say,
            "These are my fears.
              Tonight,
                            I'm not burdened by them.
       And, these are my dreams.
              Tonight,
                            I'm not bound by them.

You have fire in your eyes.
You have patience upon your lips.

Unbound by your dreams,
unburdened by your fears,
you reach into the heart of the night.
And you claim it as your own.

I witness a nightflower's triumphant bloom.
